and even with this chart, there are still many, many more emotions that a human can feel, some of them have very specific names and are used in very specific situations and sometimes they dont even exist in the vocabulary of that culture (which doesnt mean that they didnt feel those emotions) but they were probably less spiritually advanced than others. That's why Japanese culture has words for very specific feelings and emotions and a lot of times their stories make you feel those things. Thats why sometimes there is a fucking anime that fucks you up, cuz a richer culture (spiritually) is acknowledging something you didnt thought others could feel (maybe because of your culture and traditions)

I work as a CBT therapist and I use this exact one all the time with clients. As people have pointed out, it doesn't have all the subtleties of emotion we are capable of (like the word German schadenfreude, for 'shameful joy'), but think of it like a colour palette. It generally keeps to be able to put some kind of label to the feeling.

Are we not going to talk about how 75% of the chart are negative feelings? I mean, I'm coming off a loooong ass acid trip but do we really feel so many bad things and so few good, or did we just decide to give more specific words to negative feelings?

Yeaterday i thought of how to make a chart for all the emotions on my daily 2 hours of trying to sleep and getting none of it. Very nice to it. Today I will have to think of something else to prevent me from sleeping an appropriate amount of time.
