I work as a luge porter in a top 5* hotel in London and I earn £3,5k after tax (tips included). I didn't study shit because to be honest I didn't like school nor my teachers. I'm coming from Romania and earning this for me is a lot. I'm fulfilling my dream by buying an apartment in a few months near London and also getting married next year. I tend to ignore ppl who say that you can succeed only if you study...you can succeed if you work hard and you motivated yourself

A degree only proves, that you are able to learn something. For example if you study anything related to engineering, you are qualified to learn and understand the processes in development of such technologies. It doesn‘t matter if you studied mechanical or electrical engineering, or any of the thousand other varieties. Companies have a lot of people to choose from, when hiring...and every singe one of them has a degree. So that‘s only the entry card, not the criteria to be hired. What matters more is: Did you work in any related job before, or do you have any useful skills? All people complaining that a degree doesn‘t get you anything...either you only focused on your degree, so there is nothing interesting about you, or you barely finished the degree, and it was so hard for you, that you didn‘t have the capacities to achieve other skills... My advice for anyone still studying: Do an interesting side job, not the one that pays most. And learn relevant skills! (1/2)

did middle school in technical degree. have lots of job oppertunities and with good pay etc. now doing bachelors in IT. so if I make it i will practically be sure I will never have to be a day unemployed and if so i can start my own thing. my point being. choose a proffession that brings food on the table. after that you can do your passion be it in a hobby or proffessional. but at least then you can be sure it doesnt matter if you fail.
